I’m not signed in to my Chewy account
WELCOME, RX30 and the app code APP all need you signed in before the code is entered. Fix: sign in, check the cart is still there, then enter the code again at checkout.
It isn’t my first Chewy order
WELCOME is for new customers and works on one order per customer. RX30 is for a first Chewy Pharmacy order, one per household, and APP for a first order in the app. Fix: use the codes open to everyone, plus 5% off every Autoship order.
My cart doesn’t reach the minimum
WELCOME needs $49 of eligible items, counted before discounts. Items that are excluded don’t count toward it, so a $52 cart holding a $10 excluded item falls short. Fix: add eligible items until they reach $49 on their own.
The item isn’t marked for the code
Item codes only work on items whose page shows a badge such as “Save 20% with code …”. Fix: open each item page and check for the badge. Items without it pay the regular price, and the code still works on the marked ones.
A brand in my cart is excluded
WELCOME has brand exclusions, and RX30 excludes a long list, including Hill’s, Royal Canin, Purina Pro Plan and Blue Buffalo veterinary diets, Sentinel, Bravecto and Vetsulin. Fix: read the code’s terms on Chewy and remove or swap the excluded item. The pharmacy coupon page lists the RX30 exclusions.
I’ve hit the limit per order or per customer
Each code has its own limit. WELCOME allows 1 use per order and 1 order per customer, and RX30 one per household. Chewy’s pre-Cyber codes allow 5 items per order and 3 orders per customer. Fix: move extra items to a later order while you are still under the per-customer limit.
The code has ended
Chewy codes run to an end date, and codes copied from other deal sites are often old: RX20 was replaced by RX30, and there is no sign Chewy has run a BDAY20 birthday code. Fix: use a code from the Chewy promo code list, where ended codes drop off by themselves.
I used an app code on the website
APP only works at checkout inside the Chewy app, signed in, on your first app order. Fix: place the order in the app and enter APP there.
WELCOME worked, but no money came off
That is how WELCOME works: it adds a Chewy eGift card to your account after the order ships, for a later order. It does not lower the total you pay today.
