Who runs this site

Chewy Codes (chewypromocode.net) is an independent savings guide. It is not run by Chewy, and nothing you do here is shared with Chewy. You can reach us through the contact page.

What is collected today

• Server and network logs. Like any website, our web host and Cloudflare, which delivers the site, process technical details of each visit (IP address, browser type, the page asked for and the time) to send pages and to keep the site safe. These logs are not used to build a profile of you.
• Messages you send us. If you use the contact form, we keep your name, email and message so we can reply and check codes you report. We don’t add you to a mailing list.
• How the site is used. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity record visits and how pages are used, as described below.
• Tools on the page. The calculators and the Copy buttons run in your browser. The calculators don’t send or store what you type, though Clarity’s session recordings show how a page was used. The Copy button puts a code on your clipboard and nothing else.

Analytics and ads

• Google Analytics, added through Google’s Site Kit plugin, counts visits and records the pages you view, how you arrived, your approximate location from your IP address, and your device and browser. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID. See Google’s privacy policy, or block it with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
• Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used: clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, shown to us as heatmaps and session recordings, with your device and browser. It sets cookies named _clck and _clsk. See the Microsoft privacy statement.
• Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools tell us, in totals, which searches bring people here. They set no cookies on this site.

We use these reports only to see which pages help and to fix what doesn’t. No advertising runs on this site and no advertising cookies are set. If we add display ads (such as Google AdSense), this page will name them, what they record and their cookies on the day they go live.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own for visitors. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity set the cookies named above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and both tools then stop recognizing return visits. If you log in to manage the site, WordPress sets its own sign-in cookies for that session only.

Links to Chewy and other sites

Links to chewy.com and other sites open those sites, which have their own privacy policies. When you shop at Chewy, Chewy’s privacy policy applies there, not this one.

How long we keep things

Contact messages are kept while we need them to answer you or to check a code, and deleted when you ask. Host and network logs are kept for the short periods those providers set. Google Analytics and Clarity keep their data for the periods set in those tools.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete your messages, through the contact page. Residents of places with privacy laws such as the EU, the UK and California have those rights in law, and we honor them for everyone.

Children

This site is for adult pet owners and is not aimed at children under 13.

When anything above changes, this page changes first.
